Donor consent — 2015
This map illustrates how donor consent was informed in countries using data supplied by the Global Observatory on Donation and Transplantation (GODT) for 2015. Twenty-seven countries in Europe, like France, Italy, Portugal and Spain, have legislation that permits presumed consent. Chile, Israel and Singapore have legislation that permits presumed consent but with priority allocation. Australia, Brazil, some European countries and all of North America have explicit consent legislation.
Donor rate by country — 2015
This map illustrates the number of donors per million population for each country in this Global Observatory on donation and Transplantation (GODT) dataset for 2015. Belgium, Croatia, Iceland, Portugal and Spain elicited the highest rates of greater than 30 donors per million, closely followed by the United States (28 donors per million). Canada`s rate was 19 donors per million population. Most countries with the highest donor rates have presumed consent legislation.
